Keep the pickup reference at the start
When you raise a pickup request, retain its reference and the contact details used for the enquiry. This identifies the request before the transport shipment is necessarily created. Collection confirmation and pickup completion are operational stages, not proof that the goods have already reached a transit point. Keep important collection arrangements in writing and ask the coordinator if you are unsure which step has been completed.
Save the LR or shipment reference when issued
Once the shipment is booked and an LR is supplied, store that number exactly as shown in the booking record. It may differ from the pickup request ID. Use the LR for shipment tracking rather than guessing from another reference. Share it with the authorised receiving person so everyone can identify the same consignment. Keep the inventory and quotation alongside it, especially where several family members are coordinating the move.
Use the tracking page carefully
Open Track Shipment and enter the supplied LR without extra spaces or transcription errors. Review the status, location and available shipment timeline. If the reference is not recognised, check it against the booking record and contact the team rather than repeatedly trying unrelated numbers. Do not post your personal contact details or documents publicly while asking for an update. Use the official contact channel for your shipment.
Read each status in its context
Booking confirmation, transit and delivery describe different checkpoints. An in-transit update should not be interpreted as an exact delivery appointment. Equally, a period without a new visible checkpoint does not by itself explain the reason for a delay. Ask the coordinator for clarification when timing affects your receiving arrangements. Avoid assuming that a timeline is continuous vehicle GPS or that every handling event will appear instantly on the public page.
Keep receiving arrangements current
Tell the coordinator if the receiving person, phone number, building access or available delivery window changes. Confirm keys, unloading permissions and the agreed handover point in advance. Keep your own travel flexible where the arrival time has not been explicitly fixed. Read the intercity moving checklist to connect transport updates with the practical tasks that must be ready at the destination.
Ask a focused question when you need help
Provide the LR, the update you can see and the specific point you need clarified, such as the next delivery coordination step. Share sensitive details only through the appropriate channel when required. At delivery, use the inventory and record actual receiving checks; a tracking status does not replace the handover record. Common questions
Can I track with my pickup request ID?
Use the shipment LR supplied when the consignment is booked. A pickup reference identifies a different stage.
Does in transit mean delivery today?
Not necessarily. Confirm the delivery arrangement with the team.
What if the LR does not show a result?
Check the number against the booking record, then contact the team with the correct reference.
